This highly popular and classic adventure quickly and safely guides you to the heart of the magnificent Annapurna range.

The journey begins in the serene lakeside city of Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurnas. The trail quickly leads you through lush mid-hills and traditional villages, offering an unforgettable early morning excursion to Poon Hill (3,200m) for one of Nepal’s most expansive mountain panoramas, featuring the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

The trek culminates at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) (4,130m), a natural and magnificent amphitheater surrounded by colossal Himalayan giants. From the lodges, you are treated to spectacular, close-up views of Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South, Gangapurna, and the sacred Machhapuchhare.

The descent is a celebration, bringing you to Jhinu Danda and its natural Hot Springs—a perfect opportunity to relax and recuperate. The adventure concludes with a final night in picturesque Pokhara before returning to Kathmandu. This is an intimate and profound journey into the very heart of the mountains.

Route itinerary

Day 1

Journey to Pokhara and Trek to Birethanti

30 minute flight or 6-7 hour drive to Pokhara, West of Kathmandu valley through Prithivi Highway, 200 km and to Nayapul. After 20 minute walk to stop at Birethanti for overnight.

Day 2-3

Trek from Birethanti to Ghorepani via Tirkedunga and Ulleri

From Birethanti, the trail follows the Burungdi river up to Tirkedunga, 1577m. The trail passes through several small village to Ulleri and to further uphill to biggest, Gurung village of Ghorepani.

Day 4

Poon Hill Sunrise Trek and Forest Descent to Tadapani

We make early excursion to Poon Hill for breathtaking view of high Himalayas. After breakfast, steep descent to Bhanthanti local tea house to Tadapani via deep forest trail.

Day 5-6

Chomrong to Dovan: Scenic Gurung Village and Forest Ascent

Trail drops down through rhododendron and oak forest to Chomrong, a Gurung village with tremendous view across the South of Annapurna and Machapuchere. Again climb up to Kuldi and Dovan.

Day 7-8

Glacier to Grandeur: Trek to Machapuchare and Annapurna Base Camp

Walk from the bed of glacier to Macchapuchere base can and further to Annapurna base camp before clouds roll in. Best close view of Annapurna with several other mountain peaks.

Day 9-10

Jinu Danda Hot Springs to Potana: Donkey Trail Descent and Pokhara Return

Trek down to Jinu Danda at 1780m for Hot spring bath, relax. Trek further down next day to Landrung village via donkey trail. We end our trek at Potana, we drive back to Pokhara.

Pokhara Departure: Drive or Fly Out

We drive or fly out from Pokhara.

Day 1
