Yala Peak

  • Yala Peak (5,520m) offers a non-technical experience for beginner climbers wanting to make their first summit. Near the Tibetan border, this climb rewards you with a very rare and breathtaking view of Shishapangma over in Tibet along with a unique and rich cultural experience of Nepal as you journey throughout the iconic Langtang Valley.

    No technical climbing gear beyond basic mountaineering equipment is required. You’ll have to take an expert guide by law and carefully pace your acclimatization. This journey is as much about the people and places as it is about the peak itself.

Itinerary

Day 1

It takes about 7-9 hours from Kathmandu to reach Syabrubesi, from where you’ll start a journey that carries you through the famous Langtang Valley. Here, Tamang and Sherpa hospitality will cater you on the trail until you eventually reach Kyanjin Gompa, a serene high-altitude settlement framed by glaciated giants. From here you’ll make the two day journey to the peak towering ahead. Base camp at Yala is empty and will require a guide to set up your tent and cook.
