Changu Narayan – Nagarkot – Sankhu

Changu Narayan, 12 km east of Kathmandu valley, is the oldest temple dated back to 4CE of King Mandeva (Lichavi King) and lies on top of the hill. Continue a drive to Nagarkot (2100m), which is 32 km from Kathmandu. This hill point offers views of a range of the Himalayas. A view of sunset, overnight and a sunrise view. Next morning hike down to Sankhu – 4-5 hour about 12 km, it is a fairly easy walk with a view of the paddy fields, local village homes to the ancient Newari town Sankhu. It is 30 km from Kathmandu. Previously, it was part of a trade route between Tibet and Kathmandu. A huge destruction during the 2015 earthquake, is now slowly turning back to its original shape. Finally drive back to Kathmandu.
