Nepal - Treks

Annapurna Sanctuary

Description

For many years this very popular trek has been one of the classic adventures in Nepal, allowing you to reach to the heart of the mountains quickly and safely. Fly out to Pokhara and begin the trek from Birethanti, trekking through extended rough road trail to Hille by the river bed of Bhurungdi Khola. A whole day ascent to Ulleri village and continue next day as well to popular spot Ghorepani. If weather is clear, it is an excellent idea to go for excursion to Poon Hill (3200m) early in the morning. When weather is clear, Mt. Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range including close views of the Fishtail or Machhapuchhare, Lamjung and many other peaks. After we trek through bamboo and rhododendron forest via Tadapani with up and down trail by crossing bridge over Modi Khola, left or right sides, we continue to Machapuchere and further to Annapurna base camp (4130m). It is a natural and magnificent amphitheatre of Himalayan giants and tumbling glaciers.

This is one of the most dramatic and spectacular locations in Nepal. From many lodges, we view the massive south face of Annapurna 1 (8091m), Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Annapurna South and Machhapuchhare. Our return route retraces our tracks to the village of Chomrong to Jhinu Danda which is popular for Hot Spring where you can relax and take hot natural bath. We trek until Potana or Birethanti and drive back to Pokhara. Spend a night in Pokhara to relax or explore the picturesque lakeside. Next day drive back to Kathmandu via Prithvi Highway or can combine to go for Safari or rafting trip.
